Arco Beach Hotel

We’d stay again, though we’d choose a lower floor because of the two large tiled steps between the bedroom and toilet in our level 3 room. I wouldn’t recommend that room setup for anyone with mobility issues. The lift was useful, and the room had a lovely sea view. There’s an uphill stretch from the hotel to the road, and Bus stop 16 is a few minutes away. It takes you to Skiathos town and more beaches, costs just over €2 per ride, and has air conditioning. We used it often. The hotel is a few minutes from the beach and is beautifully maintained, with daily room cleaning. Breakfast was lovely, with something for everyone, and served until 10.30am. Reception staff Trudie and Elena were always pleasant and helpful, as were the rest of the staff. The average age of guests seemed to be over 50, with a nice mix of nationalities. We only used the pool once because we preferred the beach. The pool area isn’t large, but it has a bar with very nice snacks and friendly staff. Eleni at reception recommended Elizabeth Cruises for a three-island trip. It was beautiful, fun, and magical, one of my favourite things I’ve done. Eleni knows her stuff and speaks good English. The weather could’ve been better, but we had a lovely stay at Arco. Trudy, Glykeria, Michael, and the rest of the staff were always there if we needed anything. Our room was cleaned wonderfully, and the cleaners were consistently polite and smiling.

We had a lovely holiday in Skiathos and would recommend arco beach hotel. The location made things easy, with the beach about three minutes away, tavernas and bars close by, a couple of small supermarkets nearby, and Bus stop 16 within reach. The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel itself was nice, though it could use some updating. We’d booked a garden-view room, but it faced the path to the pool instead. The balcony was very narrow and not much fun to sit on. Breakfast was tasty each morning, with mostly the same choices and a couple of small changes. Everything was very clean, and the beach and pool towel loan service was handy: there’s a €10 refundable deposit, and you can swap towels every few days. Our mattress was very hard, so bear that in mind if that doesn’t suit you.

The beach was an easy, flat five-minute walk away, and we’ll definitely return. We were pleasantly surprised by this fabulous hotel. Our junior suite was roomy, with a very comfortable bed and pillows, which matter more as you get older. We had a sea row and a lovely balcony. Breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold options, and the reception was bright, clean, and comfortable. The staff were the best we’ve come across, always ready to help.
