We had a confirmed Airbnb booking and had paid, but were left without anywhere to stay on arrival. The day before, my partner emailed Anna with our arrival information and got no reply. When we called after reaching the house, she said she had received the email but hadn’t answered because she no longer worked with Airbnb. She didn’t apologize or help us find another place. It was around 5-6 pm, and after a long trip we were stranded with our child. Since it was peak season, finding a hotel took several stressful hours. This happened on the first day of our holiday. It’s shocking that an email about arrival could just be ignored.

When we visited, the owner welcomed us with fresh lemonade she’d made herself and lovely flowers from her garden.
