Grecotel Daphnila Bay Dassia

The beach was beautiful and great for children, with sun loungers always available. We found the same at the pool, so there was no pressure to reserve a spot early. The food at the buffet, beach bar, and à la carte restaurants was really lovely, with plenty of variety and especially good fresh produce. Service was amazing too. Nearly everyone we met was kind, friendly, and ready to help. When we mentioned that the front door seemed insecure and our three-year-old might get out, the team installed another lock within an hour of check-in. Our family bungalow was split into two rooms and worked fine, but felt tired compared with the rest of the resort. The bathroom was worn, with paint in the tub, slightly wobbly sinks, and haphazard fittings. The main bedroom mattress was too firm, and some sockets came away from the wall when we unplugged things, which felt like a safety risk. The patio door safety chains could also be opened from outside, and cleaners left the doors open with the chains on to air the room. These issues didn’t spoil our holiday, though the room felt functional rather than luxurious. The resort was well maintained and beautiful, and we had a really lovely break away from home.

We spent most of our time on the beach, where the view was incredible. You can have lunch there too, so there’s no need to head back up the hill, and the golf buggies are a big help for children and anyone with limited mobility. Our room was fine; since we didn’t spend much time in it, the small issues didn’t bother us, though it could use some modernising compared with the rest of the property. The staff were fantastic throughout. Angelika had only been working there for a week, but her professionalism and eagerness were so impressive. Waiters and waitresses across the property were attentive and polite. We ate at the buffet most nights and liked the wide choice, especially the local dishes and fresh salads. We also had a great meal at the Italian restaurant, but remember to reserve ahead. The crepes and ice cream at the beach were a great addition. The bars were excellent too, with a big cocktail menu, a good beer selection, and the option to order at your table or queue at the bar. My mum and I stayed five nights and found it beautiful and very relaxing. We’d easily give it 5/5. Thanks to the staff for making our stay so good.

The grounds are lush, green, and well cared for, the food is good, and the staff are welcoming with amazing service. They really tried to make our stay pleasant despite the situation. Special mention to Lisa, who personally looked into what could be done to improve it. We’re a couple without children, and we found the number of kids overwhelming. This is very family-oriented and seems especially appealing to guests with children. It felt like a big kindergarten, with perhaps 80% of guests being families with more than one child. Kids ran around tables and sunbeds and were often screaming. The hotel does what it can, including a free kids’ club from 10 to 18 and animated films at the outdoor cinema in the evening, but children will be children. If you’re after a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere, consider another hotel.

The resort was clean, with beautiful surroundings and a luxurious feel, and the Kids Club was fantastic. When the weather wasn’t great, they arranged an impromptu disco, and the kids had a lot of fun. On our first trip to Corfu, the staff made the stay feel special. Karen at Reception welcomed us warmly, and Theolis in the buffet restaurant gave us wonderful service. Everyone we met was friendly, professional, and seemed to care about our holiday. We’re sorry we can’t remember a few names, but they were fantastic too. We’re very grateful to everyone at Daphnila Bay and can’t wait to return.
