The price made the whole stay feel like a scam to me. The rates suggest a renovated, well-run place, and you can see how high they are on the major booking sites. In reality, the rooms were old and worn, and upkeep seemed to have been put off for a long time. The online photos set a very different expectation, showing modern, cared-for rooms. Breakfast was a mess too: a small selection of poor-quality food in a dirty area with flies around constantly. Our room wasn't cleaned during the stay, and we had to keep chasing staff to get fresh towels. After years of summer trips to the Greek islands, this was one of the worst hospitality experiences I've had. The property feels past its prime and badly run. Until it gets a full renovation and a serious reset of management and cleanliness standards, I'd strongly recommend staying away. August 2025

The staff were so warm, helpful, and friendly, and the maisonette was comfortable and well equipped. Being so close to the beach worked perfectly for our vacation. We loved staying at The Cocomat hotel and would happily come back soon.

We’ve stayed here twice and are hoping to return. The meals are lovely, and the staff are incredibly warm and helpful. The rooms are gorgeous, right by the water, and it’s a fantastic place to stay in Serifos.

The beach setup, with loungers, is amazing, and the hotel is in one of the island’s best locations. The accommodation feels authentic and is very comfortable. Breakfast had a good range of options, and the food and cocktails were great, with prices in line with hotel restaurants.

We came as outside guests for breakfast every morning at coco mat in Serifos. There were plenty of different dishes, so everyone could find something they liked, and the breakfast was fantastic. The hotel manager and the whole team were attentive, courteous, friendly, and always in a good mood. With its lovely bay view and great atmosphere, we'd love to come back soon.
