Grecotel Casa Paradiso

Maria at the à la carte restaurant was a real highlight. She was incredibly accommodating with my allergies, and the only person I felt took them seriously. Her service was amazing. The WhatsApp service was responsive too. We were also glad to have a car rental and TUI rep in the hotel. When we arrived late at night, they provided packed lunches, and the birthday package was really good. The hotel is family-friendly and right on the beach, though our rooms were nice but somewhat outdated. Getting around was easy enough by taxi or bus, though the bus only comes every so often. There aren't attractions nearby. Staff were nice, but some didn’t speak English, which made arrival and check-in difficult. Food was repetitive and lacked variety, the water tasted odd so I recommend bottled water, and managing my allergies was difficult because nothing was labeled. The hotel shop was quite expensive and the entertainment wasn't the best. The cocktail servers were great and the drink selection was good. Our room had an unpleasant drain smell that needs addressing. Towards the end of our stay, some change and money disappeared from our room, which was disappointing and affected how we felt about the hotel. I should have used the safe, which you have to pay for. The massage service wasn't available when we went, which was disappointing, but I found a nearby salon and went there instead. I recently stayed at this hotel for .

The downsides were mostly around service and some dated parts of the resort. It looks like it was built in the 90s, with updates to rooms, pools and finishing touches, but the restaurant and bars still show their age. Our bungalow was small. Waiting for ice cream and crepes was painful, and the service was slow and without a smile. The restaurant staff were almost too efficient, taking plates before we’d even put our cutlery down. They don’t mention anywhere that better spirit brands cost extra, which I found unacceptable. Cardboard cups were wasteful and not great to drink from. Glasses were only served at the top pool bar, and often during the day only if you asked. There was very little seafood, which seemed mad given where you are. The resort was very German-centric, which could be irritating: German guests had their own kids club, the TVs were mainly German channels and the mini-disco was clearly catered towards them. We stayed nine nights in a 'Side sea-view bungalow' as part of a Jet2 holiday. The location was beautiful, with views towards both the mountains and sea. The pool areas were great, especially by the pool bar and slides, and the beach was a 30-second walk away. Our daughter loved the kids club and went almost every day. The entertainment was decent at a lovely spot out front where we could watch the sunset. Food was decent and varied to a degree, though it could get repetitive. Drinks were decent overall, especially the cocktails at the top pool bar, and staff were friendly. All things considered, we had a great family holiday and would recommend it if you can get a good price.

Everything felt average, and the advertising left us feeling misled. Maybe this is just what all inclusive is like. With kids, it could probably rate four stars. We were relieved our stay was only three nights. Any longer and we’d have gone a bit crazy.

The beach bar staff were rude, arrogant and moody. When my kids ordered ice cream, one staff member was angry with them. I confronted him, and he said he was having a bad day. On another occasion my wife was told she couldn’t have more than one mixed fruit pot, even though we’re a family of four. I can’t go to the beach bar to order food or snacks without them speaking Greek with angry faces and voices. The relevant person should send a mystery guest and find out for themselves how guests are treated. I’ll let easy jet holidays know. I’ve already told reception, and she said they would pass it to the manger, as the manager should send an English-speaking person to find out.
