Our two-bedroom apartment was clean and very nice, with excellent air conditioning, a lovely bathroom and pleasant balcony seating. For four people, though, there wasn't enough wardrobe hanging space or drawer storage. The pool area could use a few more loungers and parasols. Breakfast and daytime staffing also felt a bit thin. Some notes for guests would help explain how breakfast works, when towels are changed, where to get free pool towels and the rule about not flushing toilet paper. It's a quiet, comfortable, family-run adults-only hotel right in the heart of the Tigaki strip.

The staff stayed friendly even when I kept raising the hot water problem, and the room was a decent size with good sound insulation. I liked the breakfast spread of fresh fruit, nuts and yoghurts, although some other items seemed almost certainly reheated from frozen. The fridge and air conditioning were noisy, and I didn't care for the beds, though that's personal preference. The price was over 200 a night, but we had blackouts repeatedly and no warm water on six of the eight mornings. The pool area is attractive and beautifully landscaped, but cramped, and some days there were no free sunbeds. A supermarket with a wide assortment is right next door, and the beach is a five-minute walk away. I can't recommend the hotel and most certainly won't come back.

The pool and its surroundings were beautiful, and the bathroom itself was lovely and had no mould. The Greek staff in the bar and kitchen were incredibly helpful. Special mention to Valentina, who showed the warmth and friendliness that remind me why I love visiting my family's motherland. The front desk let this otherwise beautiful hotel down. The welcome didn't have the Greek warmth I'm used to, and a smile from the receptionist didn't make her seem kind or friendly. When the cleaners took all our used towels but didn't leave fresh ones, reception argued in Greek that they couldn't replace them under the three-day rule. Why take the towels, then? There was no apology, even though I'm an advocate for being eco-friendly. I asked for shower gel and they did provide it. The toiletries were Olive Care, a Greek hotel brand I like, but initially there was only shampoo and body milk. The room could have been perfect, but maintenance was lacking. The sheer curtains had come off their hooks, the mini-fridge seal needed attention and leaked, and the flat sheets were too small. The sliding wardrobe needed oiling, and the cheap-looking black bathroom fittings were scratched and needed replacing or repainting. Cleaning was poor. The cleaners used a damp bleach mop, whose bucket sat in the hallway all day. Hair remained in every bathroom corner and was just pushed around the room during each 'clean'. The same toothpaste marks stayed on the mirror all week. The cleaners were friendly, but I saw them smoking in the broom closet, and didn't like walking through smoke on my way to the room. Breakfast was mostly standard continental fare. The fresh toast, pastries and fruit were the only things I could recommend. The scrambled eggs were disgusting. There were no fresh juices, but they offered a selection of Lipton teas and oat milk.

We had a 10-night stay and I'm writing this over breakfast while we wait for the transfer home. The hotel's right in town, with everything we wanted within a five-minute walk. The rooms were great and the staff very helpful. The food seemed a little bland, though we could always find something tasty. My only complaint is that there was no toaster in the mornings. We'd definitely stay again. Since this is my first review, that probably says it all.
