Phaethon Hotel

We were only here for one night, and the room was clean, which mattered most to us. Its decor felt straight out of the 90s, though we found that nostalgic in a way. The woman at reception was friendly and helpful, and they let us leave our suitcases for a few hours after checking out.

The location made getting around easy, with the old town, port, airport bus station, and famous beaches all close by. The staff were lovely and helped us work out the best way to explore. Our room had a good amount of space, a private balcony with decent seating, and a comfortable bed. It was cleaned every day, with fresh towels every other day whether or not we asked, and basic soap was provided, which came in handy since I’d forgotten mine. Breakfast had a nice selection and ran until 10:30, so there was no rush. The air conditioning worked well too. Excellent stay for what we paid, thanks!

The two women from Holland were kind, funny, and professional. They stored our large suitcases for two days while we went to Astipalea, and when an unexpected problem came up, they let us cancel without a fee. The hotel is also very close to the old city, port, and city beach. Very much recommended!

We enjoyed our stay and would happily return. The hotel is well placed, the staff are very nice, and the rooms are clean. They’re a little small and old-fashioned, but the balcony is ideal, and we appreciated the air conditioning. The main issue was noise in the hallways on some nights, which kept us from sleeping. It might be less of a problem in rooms with entrances away from the main hall and staircase. For the price, it’s absolutely worth it.
