The north of the island was so spectacular that leaving after our first week there felt sad. The hotel made it easy to see and do everything we wanted in that part of the island, and there were several restaurants a short way up the road. It’s a small, friendly family-run place, with a warm welcome and helpful staff. Our room was roomy and clean, with a kitchenette and a fridge/freezer where we could freeze water overnight for day trips. We also appreciated that the pool had no restricted swimming hours and often felt almost private because the hotel is small. Fresh eggs from the chickens wandering around the property were a lovely touch. The sunsets and views from our sea-view room and the pool were a highlight. A few things could be improved, though. We came down for breakfast between 9 and 9:30, and the hot food had been cooked ahead and was lukewarm. It would help to cook things like the eggs as needed. That was a shame, given how orange and tasty the free-range egg yolks were. The room was particularly clean, even under the bed, but quite a few glasses, cups, cutlery items, and dishes had been left dirty by previous guests. Please check those. Also, the roadside trees and vegetation need trimming so drivers can see cars coming from the left when pulling out. We spent a week in the south as well, but would definitely stay here again. I’d give it 4.8.

After confirming through Booking.com and paying half upfront, we were told there had been a pricing error. The property then wanted almost ten times the original price and said the reservation would otherwise be cancelled. They acknowledged the mistake was theirs but still wouldn’t honor the booking. It felt very unprofessional and unreliable. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We wished we’d booked more than two nights once we’d seen how hospitable the hosts were. This quiet, family-run studio has a bed-and-breakfast feel, and it’s well placed if you need to catch a ferry at Fiskardo. Our room was spacious, with a large comfortable bed, and the broad balcony faced west over the lovely pool, so we could watch the sunsets. The pool also has several spa-style jets. Breakfast was delicious, with lovely fresh farm food. A wonderful, peaceful stay.

The balcony view was the part I looked forward to most each morning, with a beautiful scene right outside. The room was comfortable and well equipped, too. Ioannis welcomed us so warmly when we arrived that we felt at home right away, and the whole team was friendly, attentive, and ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was included, delicious, and had a good range of choices. We had a fantastic stay, thanks to the hospitality, views, and breakfast. Highly recommend it.

We were left needing a nearby place to stay after our ferry was rescheduled, so we called ahead about our arrival. The guy made us wait two hours. When he eventually showed up, he smelled of alcohol and said he’d been at the hospital. I didn’t believe him. He wanted 120 euros in cash with no receipt, so I said it made more sense to book online for e70. He got furious and told us to leave. We were exhausted and ended up staying anyway, but I’d never support this kind of business again. The room was very basic, and the air con smelled bad.
