Al Mare

The room was acceptable, nothing special, but the hotel’s location is beautiful, with its own beach and a bar right on the sand. Still, having to order everything from that beach bar as a paying hotel guest felt restrictive, even though I knew about the rule before booking. The bigger problems were the basic facilities and cleanliness. On several occasions, part of the hotel had no electricity or water. Coming back from the beach unable to shower is unacceptable, especially at this price. Tables in the dining area were often left dirty, and we had to take off the used tablecloths ourselves and put on clean ones. That level of service doesn’t match what we paid.

The beach bar has plenty of space and really good seafood at reasonable prices. Al Mare is only about 10 meters from the sea, and the rooms are roomy, with very comfortable beds and pillows. The internet was excellent, and the hotel food had a Mediterranean style. The staff put a lot of effort into keeping guests happy. Just excellent!

A relaxing weekend was exactly what we wanted, and this family-run hotel had such a warm feel. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the food was tasty. Lovely place, highly recommend! 🩵

I only stopped in for a takeaway frappe, and it cost 4.5 euros with no lid because they apparently didn't have any. That's ridiculous next to prices elsewhere nearby, where most places charge 2.5 to 3. Also, calling the beach private is misleading: the Greek constitution doesn't have private beaches. Beaches are public, though businesses can rent a limited section each year under the law.
