Cavo Blue Coastal Living Chalkidiki

The water in front of Cavo is over large rocks, which wasn’t for me or the kids. Just a few steps to the right, there’s a nice sandy stretch, about 30m away by Olivo, though its prices are ridiculously high. In general, it’s a lovely place, and the location is great, right on the beach. A sea-view room is especially nice, but there are only four in the front building, two on the ground floor and two on the second. I stayed here two years, most recently in a regular comfort room with my 12-year-old son. The rooms are modern, nice, and clean, though we did see some spiders on the walls. The space is tiny. We had to have my son sleep on the side bed by the kitchen sink because sharing the “big” bed was too tight. The beds are smaller than regular queen size, probably twin size, and two adults wouldn’t be comfortable. Family rooms are also small. The extra bed is basically a single bed that pulls out from underneath the side bed, so bigger families should expect to feel cramped. The ground floor sea-view room comes with a privacy problem. You’re right beside the entrance walkway, so people passing by look at you and your meal. Also, whoever stays in the neighboring ground floor room keeps cutting across your terrace and grass as a shortcut instead of walking five extra steps around the corner. This happened both years, with several different families. I tried putting out a drying rack and a chair as barriers, but children just went around them. The walls feel paper thin. You hear people walking, stomping, or a baby crying upstairs. The worst is the loud squealing of chairs being moved in the room or on the balcony next door or above. It woke me up several nights, so I had to use earplugs, which aren’t comfortable. I already suggested the “manager” add soft furniture pads to avoid that sound.

The villa looks modern and stylish from outside. Our ground-floor double room was spacious and clean, and the beach was only about 2 meters away. There was parking in the large yard right beside the villa.

The staff were very kind, parking was free, and the location is right by the sea. Still, the rooms are small for families and weren’t very clean, so I don’t think the place is worth the price. Be aware there are big rocks at the water’s edge, which don’t make for good swimming.

Cavo Blue gave us a real break from Corona, work, stress, and everyday life. We had a very relaxing stay. The cozy apartment was clean, nicely decorated, and had everything we needed for a 10-day holiday. It’s right on the beach, and markets, restaurants, and bars are within walking distance. The owners were pleasant and helpful. P. S. The WiFi signal was good.
