The pool was calm, never crowded, and the water was just right. I came with my wife and our 4-month-old baby, and everything was tidy and nice, just as expected, though nothing extraordinary. The best part was our host, Anna. She’s an older lady, and if you treat her with respect, she’ll take wonderful care of you. Thank you for an amazing holiday for my family and me!

The furniture is old, and the small, shallow pool wasn’t much to write home about. It’s a 15-minute walk from the main street. The elderly owner lives at the accommodation and keeps checking on things and complaining, so you won’t get much peace to enjoy your holiday. They don’t know English.

We were literally kicked out that morning and then waited six hours for the bus to take us, exhausted, to the airport. During our stay we were constantly insulted and called dirty Italians and thieves. The owner was openly racist and wouldn’t let us laugh, joke, or even take a normal dip in the pool without pointing at us and yelling. She even threatened to cut our ball in half with garden shears if we didn’t stop playing with it in the pool, during the allowed hours. The place itself was livable and reasonably nice compared with many others, but the welcome was a nightmare. We were charged an extra €10 for leaving a light on for a few hours, despite the contract, and were told towels and the room would only be cleaned once a week. She was stingy, unbalanced, and racist. With so few reviews and such bad ones, I’d advise agencies not to send young people who just want to have fun there. It felt more like a German barracks than a residence.

Zakynthos is a wonderful city to visit, but don’t come here expecting a decent place to sleep. We only used the apartments for 3-4 hours a night, yet the owner, “Uncle Nannina,” insulted us and called us thieves. She isn’t up to managing this property, and there’s no bar where you can get an aperitif or cocktail. When we asked for toilet paper, she said, “buy it at the market, Italians eat spaghetti.” What does that even mean? 🤔 She was lucky we didn’t poop in her drawers, closet, or fridge. 😑
