Elements of Caldera Suites

The location is peaceful and has an amazing view. My partner and I hired a buggy to see the busier parts and explore the island on the way, which I’d definitely recommend. On arrival we got a free bottle of wine, and we could use the private restaurant too. The terrace, bedroom, food, and service were all better than expected, and the staff were lovely. Nothing to fault, can’t wait to return!

Compared with other luxury places nearby, this one is really good value. It was quiet and super clean, and we wished we could have stayed here instead of moving elsewhere.

The breakfast was a real treat, with fresh, delicious food made from quality ingredients. We could eat on the shaded restaurant terrace or have it brought to our room. The pool area was lovely and well kept, with comfortable loungers and good beach towels. Our private tubs went unused because we weren’t happy with the water temperature. The hot tub also stayed lukewarm, and we couldn’t adjust it. From the first level, the pool, and the tubs, the view is over a valley, so you can’t see the sea unless you stand up. We stayed three nights in August 2024 with our two families. The staff were kind and professional from the start, and gave us the best service we’ve experienced. Everything felt thoughtfully done, from the high quality robes, towels, and embroidered bed linen to the spotless, well-equipped rooms and very comfortable beds. The bathroom’s double shower was a highlight, with great water pressure. Elements of Caldera Suits is a comfortable, luxurious place, and we’d love to return.

The views are even better in person, and there are three cute kittens on the property. Try the mojitos at the bar. Breakfast is included, with lots of choices, from eggs cooked different ways and sausages to tomatoes, cereal, Greek yogurt, tea, and coffee. This was my husband’s and my first time in Greece, and wow, the service was so good. Everyone at the hotel and on the island was incredibly kind. The area in Akrotiri is quiet and somewhat remote, which I actually preferred. It’s southwest of the usual Santorini-style buildings in Oia, and most places we wanted to drive to were about 15-20 minutes away. I wouldn’t recommend walking because there aren’t many sidewalks. You can rent an ATV or motorbike, though cab drivers emphasized that many tourists die in crashes each year. Uber and 24/7 taxis are available, but fares average a flat $36-40. Receptionists Vanessa and Anastacios were very helpful with settling in and suggesting things to do. I really enjoyed staying here. God bless the staff.
