Galaxy Beach Resort, BW Premier Collection

We got back two days ago after a week, and I still can’t understand how this hotel has five stars. To me it deserves three at most. I’m sharing this to warn other guests, and I hope the owners take reviews like this seriously. I should’ve read them before booking 😡 The location is great, right by the beach, and the food was delicious. Those were the positives. But even with all-inclusive, beach loungers cost €25 per day each, which seemed ridiculous to me. Our first impression was awful. An elderly woman at reception gave us a terrible stare and was extremely rude, with no greeting or smile. The staff overall rarely greeted us or smiled in the morning. The gentleman at the rooftop bar was a real exception, and his evening friendliness made up for some of those gloomy faces. The room looked like it was from the communist era, with a rusty shower. Cleaning was basically just making the bed. They left sand on the floor when the kids brought it in, so on day three I got a broom from the corridor and swept the room myself. The sheets weren’t changed all week, the floor was never mopped, and the bathroom was dirty. Tap water tasted salty, and the hotel provided just one bottle for the whole week. We had to pay for another. There was no evening show, kids’ entertainment, daytime water aerobics, or even music by the pool. The midday snack bar was poor, with awful sandwiches and no fruit for the kids. Bar staff didn’t clear the tables by the loungers all day, so guests had to take their own cups and glasses away. Some people left them under the loungers 😳. The corridor was extremely dirty, too. There were far more negatives than positives, so I can’t recommend this hotel.

We paid over $500 CAD a night for a “king suite” that was closet-sized and had no working AC. The front desk said it was working, but in +33 degree weather it only blew air and did nothing to cool the room. The room’s power only worked with the key card in its holder, and they gave us just one key. An hour after arriving, we booked other accommodation for the rest of our honeymoon. I’m literally dripping sweat while writing this. This “five star resort” is an absolute joke. We went to dinner seven minutes after opening, and everything we tried was already cold. The food was garbage, and the seating area cushions looked like someone had pissed all over them. Photos to follow. Don’t stay here!

The outdoor areas were beautiful and well cared for, thanks to the gardening team. Everything was spotless, and the staff worked hard while staying kind. Thanks to all the ladies who put in so much effort 💕 The food was fresh, delicious, and varied, with great quality at every meal. Special thanks to the waitresses Agostina and Esmeralda, Ganis, and Vasilis for being so kind and professional. The guys at the bar always served us with a smile and great energy. A warm, welcoming stay at Galaxy Resort, and we’d love to come back!

We found the stay well worth the price, and the hotel deserves its five stars. The food was fantastic and deserves high praise, while drinks and other services were fine. Staff were generally nice and helpful, apart from a few minor exceptions. It’s calm here, without daily animation programs, disco nights, or long parties. The hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable, especially the rooms. Its location is ideal, right beside a lovely beach with clean sea, and far enough from Laganas’ bustle while still close to the centre. A couple of details felt out of place for a luxury five-star hotel: we had to pay an extra 20E to use the room safe, and a breakfast package was available but not a lunch one.
