Ikaros Hotel

The staff made Hotel Ikaros special. Everyone we met, from reception and housekeeping to the bar, was friendly, helpful, and seemed to care about making our stay enjoyable. The food was great, with fresh choices and plenty of variety each day, and the pool bar was a nice extra for daytime drinks. The hotel was beautiful and clean. Our spacious room was cleaned daily and had a lovely balcony for morning coffee. The pool area was fantastic for relaxing in the sun. There's some noise, especially at night, as you'd expect in lively Laganas. For anyone wanting to enjoy the area's energy, it's well placed: close enough to walk to the beach, shops, and nightlife, but far enough away to find some quiet when needed. We'd definitely stay again. Hotel Ikaros exceeded expectations, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the best of Zakynthos. See you again soon Ikaros and definitely Laganas.

A gold chain was stolen from the room by either the maid or the electrician who came to replace the broken refrigerator. Breakfast was exactly the same every day. 0 STARS!

The basement room smelled awful, and the hotel was extremely dirty. We stayed five days and the room wasn't cleaned once. We asked for towels and toilet paper, but never got them. The cleaners were rude, screamed at us, and were stealing from rooms. The food was disgusting, drinks were very poor quality, and the bathrooms constantly stank from what seemed like a very bad sewage system. We left with bites all over us, which we believe could have been bed bugs. Worst hotel I've stayed in. I would never come back.

Nothing made up for the experience, even though the rest of the staff were lovely. One young woman in the dining area was openly disrespectful and extremely rude, loudly chewing gum. Breakfast had run out before 9 AM, and nothing was replenished. There was no variety in the food at all. The place was filthy, neglected, falling apart, and had a horrible smell throughout that made it unbearable to be inside. The atmosphere was awful. It was a complete waste of money and nerves, a nightmare from beginning to end. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid at all costs.
