The staff from Sydney were really friendly, and the location is fantastic. Our room was spacious and had a good-sized balcony. Breakfast was just OK, and so was the bathroom, but there was plenty of hot water and daily room service. They gladly brought extra towels and blankets. When I put a hand towel on the floor, room service thoughtfully left a bathroom mat for us. For a two-star place, it’s good value.

I walked into the room and the bathroom smell of sewage and rot hit me straight away. There was human feces on the floor, and the sinks were clogged with thick yellow slime that looked as if it had been there for days or weeks. When I tried the shower, brown water came out with a metallic, moldy smell. There was no hot water, only lukewarm water, and I wouldn’t risk brushing my teeth with it. The food from the so-called restaurant was cold, slimy, and unpleasant, as though it had been reheated several times and dropped before reaching my plate. The meat was gray and I couldn’t tell what it was. The vegetables were soggy and bitter, and seemed past their best. Even the bottled water smelled odd, like it had been stored somewhere moldy. I tried complaining at reception. One staff member rolled their eyes, another ignored me and walked away. They didn’t apologize, acknowledge the waste in the bathroom, or offer a room change. I felt treated like a nuisance, and the response was rude and hostile. The smell wasn’t limited to the room. The lobby and hallways reeked of mold, cigarette smoke, and something like wet dog mixed with spoiled milk. Carpets were badly stained, walls cracked and peeling, and I didn’t want to touch anything without gloves. This was the most disgusting, poorly run place I’ve encountered. The experience left me fearing for guests’ health and safety. If you care about hygiene or basic dignity, stay away. Zero stars if possible. It shouldn’t be in business and should be condemned and bulldozed.

The garden is lovely, and rooms with odd numbers look out over it. The rooms were very clean, with daily cleaning and fresh sheets and towels every three days. You’re also very close to the best parts of the beach. There’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms and the phone signal is very weak. Breakfast is a little sparse, an omelette or two would make a big difference. Communication with the hosts felt a bit odd and complicated. For the price, I do recommend it if you can manage without Wi-Fi or cell service in the room, and I’d consider staying again.

The location is excellent, near Laganas beach but away from the noisier part of town. We booked through a holiday agency and everything was as expected. The rooms were clean, and the amenities were adequate for a week of sleep and rest. The staff were very nice and polite, and the rates seem fair for a two-star hotel. Breakfast came with the stay. It was basic, bread, a slice of ham and cheese, jam, butter, coffee or tea, juice, and fruit, but the quality was good and it kept us full until lunch. Wi-Fi mostly works around reception. If you’re after a simple place to stay in Laganas, I recommend it.

We spent a week here, and it met our basic needs for a clean place to sleep with breakfast to start the day. The location was in a quiet part of Laganas, with everything still within walking distance: the shop about 200 m away, the beach 300 m, the bus stop 150 m, and the city center roughly 700-800 m. The owners and staff were kind and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily, and the sheets and towels changed every three days. The furniture was a little old-fashioned, but we had a TV, fridge, and AC. The AC cost an extra €5 a day, which is affordable and pretty much necessary in August, though it would be nicer included in the room rate. Breakfast was available and simple, but enough for us. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, which seems like something that should be standard nowadays. Also, the shower has no curtain, so water gets all over the bathroom.
