I found out only after arriving that air conditioning costs extra. Booking.com doesn’t say how much, and without it the room gets unbearably hot. The only way to cope is to sleep with the door open all night. By the second day, this had already caused me health problems, so I tried to complain. First I was told I was rude, then that the owner would come the next morning. It feels like they don’t care about guests and are just trying to rip them off. I’ll contact my credit card company tomorrow to request a chargeback and end my holiday much earlier than planned.

The owner is a lovely woman and offered recommendations for food and tours. The rooms are decent, and the €5 per night air conditioning fee wasn’t too bad, but it’s something to be aware of. The shower has no proper guard, so water runs onto the floor and soaks the whole bathroom. There was no hot water early in the morning either.

The receptionist and housemaid were friendly and helpful. After I mentioned how uncomfortable the worn, extremely hard mattress was, they put a soft foam pad on top, which made a big difference. The apartment was very cheap, at 20€ per person per night. Our ground-floor room was tiny and dark, with old, ugly dark-brown furniture. The shower was so cramped that the curtain kept sticking to me. The kitchen was poorly equipped: no cutting board, just one huge knife, pots without lids, and no sponge or dish soap, so we had to buy those ourselves.

The room faced the beach, and it was clean and well kept during our six days there. The hotel manager was lovely and went out of her way to help. I can’t recommend the place highly enough, and I can’t wait to return.

We really enjoyed staying here. The woman was so kind and helpful, and luckily we ended up with the best room, with a lovely view of the beach.
