Maria, the owner, was lovely, helpful and knew the area well. We had a relaxing stay at this self-catering hotel and enjoyed our time in Zante. It’s about a 30-minute walk or a €10 taxi ride to the beach and the strip with shops, bars, restaurants and clubs. There are a couple of shops five minutes away and a restaurant about ten minutes away. The place is very clean, and the staff are welcoming. The bar and small eatery serve good food and drinks, priced about the same as in Britain. There are plenty of loungers for a hotel this size, so we could always get one. Rooms are basic but clean, with towels and bedding changed regularly. The kitchen has a two-ring hob, though a microwave and toaster would have been useful. The shower was small, and its curtain stuck to you, leaving the floor very wet, but we managed. Air conditioning cost €10 a day.

Maria, the owner, was a real laugh, and we enjoyed chatting with her. Nick ran the bar and looked after us all day, always smiling, with lovely breakfasts. Our room was cleaned every day and had fresh towels. We spent most days by the pool, which was well kept and had plenty of sunbeds. Taxis to the main strip cost €10 each way, and there are some amazing restaurants there. We had a great holiday and I’d happily return. Thanks to Maria, nick and all the staff.

Maria made it easy for us to rent quads to explore the island, and gave us useful tips on places to visit. The staff at Hera Apartments were all friendly and helpful, which was the best part of our stay. We spent ten days there in July with three friends, in a comfortable, clean deluxe apartment with a modern, luxurious feel and everything we needed. The pool was a nice place to relax in the sun, and the on-site restaurant had a varied menu with tasty options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were never disappointed with a meal. We had a fantastic time at Hera Hotel in Zakynthos and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Zakynthos for good food, relaxing and great service.

This family-run place was so welcoming, and everyone did all they could to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were modern and clean, and the whole area was quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. We spent nine nights at this hidden gem and had an amazing time. Thanks, and hopefully we’ll be back one day! Rob (The crazy runner! 🏃🏼)

Booking Hera at the last minute turned out to be a jackpot. The family who run it were amazing, friendly and chatty, and you can see they care about the place and take pride in it. Our room was modern and very clean, with great air conditioning. The pool area and bar were lovely too, and the food and cocktails were really good and reasonably priced. I’d absolutely stay again 🖤
