Zervos Apartments

The extended family, from the oldest to the kids, has been coming back to relax at Zervos’ residence over the years. It’s a wonderfully quiet stretch of Bouka Beach, set among the deep blue Ionian waters and the green Corfiot countryside of Lefkimmi, with the Zervos Apartments nearby. We’ve stayed there in many different seasons. May and June bring long days, while September is cooler, and both feel more comfortable than the fierce July and August heat. It’s a luxurious-feeling escape on a budget. Ermioni, the landlady, keeps everything running smoothly and looks after the place with care. She gave us plenty of Ladokouloura (Ermioni’s biscuits) to have with coffee, and her Kolokithi Keftedes were so tasty we wanted to take the recipe home. The beach is almost empty, the sea is crystal clear, and the large garden has lots of shady spots. Along the river (Potami), especially near the bridge, there are cafés and restaurants serving local dishes, often with Rebetiko music playing. It’s a lovely place to settle in and unwind. Even Odysseus, if he’d found it on the way back from Ithaca, might have been tempted to stay longer.
