Diwani Luxury Villas

The holiday blues have already started, and we still have two days left. The villa is immaculate, with comfortable rooms, working AC, and frequent cleaning by a very sweet and capable cleaner. Amira checked in on WhatsApp a couple of days before we arrived to ask if we needed anything. She left us wine, gluten-free bread, fresh fruit, and water, and was available when I accidentally switched off the AC and needed help getting it going again. Lapeda beach is just a two-minute walk away. It has a restaurant and bar for meals, snacks, drinks, coffee, and ice cream, plus sun loungers for €10. It never felt crowded. Lixouri is a quiet town without a lot of tourists, about a scenic 20-minute walk away. You can cool your feet in the water along the beach on the way. The villa is roughly an hour from the airport. There’s a well-kept shared pool for the three two-bedroom villas, with plenty of loungers. We hired a car for a couple of days to do a big grocery shop and visit Xi beach, about a 20-minute drive away. There are water sports there, including pedalos with slides and speedboat rides on a giant doughnut, as well as bars and restaurants with Ibiza vibes and reasonably priced food. Other beaches are farther away, so a car gives you more freedom to explore Kefalonia. Rental was €40-60 a day, perhaps less for longer bookings. This was our first visit, but it won’t be our last. Thanks to Amira and her family for making everything so easy and enjoyable. They have a small dog called Cinca who’s friendly, though he can bark outside in the evenings. The hosts bring him in if he gets too noisy.

The hosts are wonderfully accommodating, and the rooms and fittings seem nearly new and are cleaned often. Kids have a great-sized pool to enjoy. The setting feels peaceful, with fantastic views, while still being close enough to town to make the most of it. We usually walked into town and back in about 30 minutes, and found amazing restaurants there. For shopping and getting around the area, I’d recommend having a car. Book it, you’ll enjoy your stay.

The family who run the apartments were friendly and gave us plenty of space. We loved our stay and plan to return. The apartment was modern, very clean, and had everything we needed. It was also a calm spot, which can be hard to find in Greece, with a great view of the pool, sea, and mountains. Highly recommended.

The hostess was kind and gave us good suggestions for places to see around the island. The house was really clean and quiet, with lots of space. Downstairs there’s a guest toilet, laundry, kitchen, couch and TV, and a terrace with a grill area. Upstairs are two bedrooms sharing a balcony, a smaller balcony for hanging clothes, and a bathroom.
