Ikaros Hotel

It felt like being at home, and the good breakfast matched what we expected. We’d booked very late, so the room we got was the only one available and a bit tight. Marilena and the hotel staff were incredible, sharing great recommendations and keeping all our luggage after checkout.

The location was fantastic, and the service was excellent. Marilana from Albania at reception was especially helpful and made the stay more enjoyable. The owner was kind and accommodating, and the housekeeping team kept our room spotless, with the cleaning woman especially friendly. Since we don’t eat pork, they went out of their way to buy something extra for us, which we really appreciated.

Marilena and the other staff were really friendly, and the location near an interchange made getting around easy. For 50 euros a night, the stay was pretty good. I did feel cold under the duvet, though, and the toilet could have been cleaner. Breakfast was mostly bread, so more variety would have helped.

The staff were the highlight: housekeeping was great, and the buffet stayed clean and well stocked. They even pointed us to a bus for the port so we could avoid spending money on a taxi. It’s easy to reach bus stops, and the nearby restaurants cost a lot less. The 40-minute walk to Fira was quite manageable. Our room had the basics, a lovely balcony, and water in the fridge, though the mattresses were pretty uncomfortable.
