Hotel Gounos

The short walk to the beach and the lovely surroundings were a big plus. Gounos is family-run, and I think it’ll keep getting better. The staff were kind; their English was limited, but they understood some words and we got by. Food changed each day, including breakfast, and I had a really good stay. I don’t get the two-star rating. To me, it deserves at least four. My only complaint was that the bathroom was smaller than I expected, though I didn’t expect much in the Balkan areas. If you want an inexpensive, well-kept hotel, this is a good option.

We bought some of the excellent homemade olive oil to take with us. The dinners were especially good, with traditional dishes, rich flavors, and a thoughtful choice of food. The head chef gets a 10 from us. The hotel is right in central Leptokarya but still quiet, with plenty of free parking and a green courtyard that’s a lovely spot for coffee or a rest. Our room was clean, towels and linens were changed regularly, and hygiene was excellent. It felt both welcoming and professionally run. Highly recommended, and we’d be happy to come back.

We especially liked the homemade dinners, with four dishes to choose from, and the helpful owners. Rooms were cozy and clean, with sea-view balconies, an elevator, TV, fridge, hair dryer, and towels. Bed sheets and towels were changed twice a week. The service was excellent, and there’s a large car park and garden out front. It’s close to both the beach and the center. I’d recommend this hotel.

A clean hotel with good food, and the staff are always there to help. Parascevi was especially nice. It’s in a quiet spot but still close to the beach. I recommend it.
