Michalis Complex

We had everything we needed, and it was perfect. The owner was exceptionally kind, always smiling and greeting us whenever we crossed paths. She and the family running the small convenience store downstairs kept checking whether we needed anything.

The owners are so friendly and ready to help, which made this a lovely choice for a family holiday. It’s a family-run complex, with clean, well-kept rooms, a good-sized pool area, plus a supermarket and restaurant on site.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment and found the price hard to beat. We didn’t rent a car, but getting around on foot was manageable, especially since we spent the days at the beaches. Rovinja Beach is well worth a visit. The location was very good and the staff were attentive. Breakfast was fine, though the towels weren’t replaced and the rooms could do with some renovation. We didn’t see any pests.

We asked TUI to find us another place to stay, but they declined, saying “the booking is an Ltur package.” We did get an apology and a voucher toward our next trip. I hope the accommodation is better then. Our request to move to a better room was turned down because, we were told, everything was occupied. One room did open up after its guests left in desperation and paid for somewhere else for the rest of their holiday, but apparently it was even worse than ours. We had booked a “1 Bedroom Apartment” advertised with a living room and bedroom, balcony or terrace, mountain and garden views, and a kitchen with a toaster. There was no living room, just a dark, windowless hallway of about 8 square meters with two very old sofa beds. The terrace faced a wall, and guests or staff were constantly passing by and looking into our tiny bedroom. The kitchen had very little in it, and there was no toaster despite the listing. We were told, “We have no toasters.” I won’t even get into the bathroom.
