Brilliant Holiday Resort (Corfu)

We had a very good impression of the stay and came away with lovely memories. The dining area was open and beautiful, and we enjoyed eating outside with a sea view. The food was tasty, with different dishes, fruit, and cakes to choose from. There was always clean, chilled water, as well as juices, beer, and wine. The kitchen staff were very kind and helpful, and we enjoyed having a drink at the pool bar in the evening. Definitely try the Ouzo drink. We stayed September 2nd to September 9th. Check-in was quick, and a staff member carried our luggage up the many stairs to the room. The stairs weren’t a problem for us. Our room was very nice and had a beautiful view of Agios Georgios beach. The bathroom was basic and the sink a little damaged, but everything worked. We were surprised the tap and shower water were salty. Toilet paper couldn’t be flushed, though that’s standard. Room cleaning could have been better, and the bed linens were changed only about twice.

We were two days into our five-day stay in May 2023 and had to make the best of a poor situation because it was our booked holiday. The food was nice, but there wasn’t much choice, and the staff weren’t helpful. The hotel seemed rushed open for the season, with things not ready. I wouldn’t stay again. Room cleaning was very poor: dirty floors, and bathrooms needing repairs and a deep clean. The hotel itself also needs repairs, with several health and safety concerns. Handrails weren’t secured to the wall, the pool stairs were loose, and the floors were slippery. The showers weren’t fixed properly, so you had to hold the shower head to use it.

The location was stunning, and the staff did their best, though communication was pretty poor. Still, this didn’t feel like a place for a romantic, relaxing break with your partner. It might have suited a lads’ or gals’ holiday better, perhaps more like club 18-30. There were so many stairs, and the smell of sewerage was disgusting and constant. The food was terrible, with pretty much the same thing for lunch and dinner, seemingly reconstituted each day. There was also too much reliance on plastic cups. For a little home comfort after a long day out, it would’ve been nice to have tea and coffee with milk in the room, and a TV that worked.

It was a truly relaxing break for my girlfriend and me. The hotel is great, and the area is calm and beautiful, so I’d definitely recommend a visit. I enjoyed every meal they served. Spiros, the bartender by the pool, deserves a special mention too. He’s a really great guy who would do anything for the customers.
