Kaminos Evia

This is not a 4-star hotel or resort. I stayed for 6 days in August, and what I paid, even after a big price cut and an upgrade we agreed on, was far too much for what I got. The room I was given wasn’t the one I booked. The photos in their app seem misleading, possibly because they show just one spacious, tidy room and use those pictures everywhere. There were no real services, and even basic room items were missing, like a glass in the bathroom for a toothbrush. The windows had no screens, so insects and even cats could get in. Four cats came into my room. At least the two rooms I stayed in were dirty, and I can’t describe the smell. There were spider webs with spiders on the ceiling. Rooms are supposedly “cleaned” every 3 days, which doesn’t follow the regulation for a 4-star hotel in Greece. The pool bar is self-service and isn’t owned by the hotel. Breakfast was basic.

We happened to pass this lovely-looking seaside resort with a pool. I wanted a drink by the pool, but there wasn’t any free space. The reception and restaurant are in a beautiful old factory that’s been redesigned, with a pool table upstairs from reception. Across the road there’s a little beach by the sea, with a typically Greek terrace. There’s plenty of street parking, and you’ll need a car to get to Limni, the nearest town.

The location was fantastic, and it was still amazing to be there, though I was a little disappointed by the beach. It’s a bit remote from mainland Greece, about a 2h40m to 3h drive.

A terrible place, more like a youth hostel than a 4-star hotel. Nothing seemed to work properly. When we got to the room, there was no hot water in either of the two rooms we had, so they moved us to another room that also had no hot water. The power switches only worked some of the time. It’s near a grove, and with no window screens the rooms filled up with huge bugs. The beach felt deserted, with worn-out furniture. The grounds around the building looked neglected and miserable. The staff were friendly but didn’t seem trained to provide even basic service. We left after one day and are still waiting for a refund. Try to avoid this place at all costs.
