Island Blue Hotel

We went in the first week of May, when it was really quiet, which suited us perfectly. It felt like we had the whole complex to ourselves, including the staff, facilities, meals and bars. The staff are fabulous. Wishing them a good season.

We had a great stay. Everyone on the team was so friendly and helpful, and we'd happily come back.

The pool bar at Island Blue was a real highlight. Marios and Vasili were fantastic with the snacks and made me feel welcome at my little spot by the bar during my 10 days there. In the evenings Dimitra ran the bar on her own and was just as attentive and welcoming. She also serves breakfast, and she's a real asset even though she'd only been there a short time. The lady whose name I forgot and Vasili looked after Noema next door. It had a lovely atmosphere, and the Greek and Italian food was great. The house white wine was amazeballs. I was a bit surprised that the photos and description led me to expect a kitchenette, when my room had just a fridge and kettle. I did wonder if that was because I was travelling alone. My friends arrived a few days later. I also thought the sister hotels would be a road or two apart, but they're all on the same complex, which wasn't a problem. The place was clean and well kept. It's a short walk to the beach, and booking the glass bottomed boat trip to Lindos was one of my highlights. I don't normally choose a resort, but I really liked this one, just a stones throw from the 'main drag'. I usually travel in June or September, but circumstances meant August this time. The kids having fun was comforting, and there were lots of them. Buses to Lindos and Old Rhodes Town were comfortable and regular, and both were highlights. Be ready for the occasional wedding reception, it's a good venue for one.

The resort shop delivered snacks and drinks to our apartment, which was especially handy since we didn't arrive until 1am. We stayed for a week in September 2024 while attending a local wedding, and had no complaints. The hotel was clean and tidy, our room was lovely, and it was cleaned regularly. Staff were all very friendly. We only had breakfast included, so that's the only meal I can comment on. There was plenty of hot and cold food to choose from, and the quality was good. It felt like a lovely family friendly hotel, and we'd definitely return.
