Aloni Hotel

Getting around was easy, with the old square, main street, and beach all just a few minutes away on foot. There’s free parking that you can lock up, and the hotel is very kid-friendly, with a children’s pool and a small playground. The rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette, bathroom, and terrace. The hotel was lovely and super clean. I definitely recommend it, especially for the value for the price.

It did get a bit noisy while we were there. The pool area was pleasant, though small, and the playground was limited, just a swing and one other thing that I can’t remember the name of. The parking lot was big, but a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, though not very spacious. Room size and amenities mean different things to different people, I guess. Breakfast was good, with the usual Greek hotel spread: omelette, fried or boiled eggs, hotdogs, sausages, assorted meats and cheeses, vegetables, yogurt, milk, and bread. As is often the case in Greece, it wasn’t a different kind of breakfast.

The room was hard to sleep in because the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The air conditioning also wasn’t working properly, and we could barely feel it. On arrival, we found the toilet dirty and not properly cleaned, and the pool was dirty too. The photos and reviews didn’t match what we experienced. Booking said breakfast was included, but the next morning we were told it wasn’t part of our price and asked to pay €12 per person. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

We’ve stayed here two years in a row and would be very happy to come back in September or next year. The hotel is a little far from the beach, but that means the atmosphere is quiet and calm. The inner yard is lovely, with green grass, olive trees, and a pool that’s cleaned every day. The rooms have spacious balconies with a table, chairs, and somewhere to dry towels and clothes. The staff are friendly and positive, and the owner is around the property all the time, ready to help guests with whatever they need. Rooms are clean and roomy, breakfast is delicious, and the other menu dishes are very well prepared. There’s a parking lot close to the hotel, so parking the car isn’t a worry. I highly recommend Aloni Hotel for a holiday in Pefkochori.
