Lindos Athena Hotel

We came for my brother’s wedding and felt welcome straight away. The pool and facilities were great, and the food was good too. George and his family looked after us so warmly, while oxi at night made everything feel relaxed. Our kids loved it, and the dogs were so friendly. We’d definitely come back.

We spent a week here and were sorry to leave. The staff were lovely, and their iced lattes and cocktails were especially good. Our studio was comfortable and clean, with a balcony that was lovely to sit on in the morning or evening. The pool area was beautiful too, with comfy sunbeds where we spent plenty of time in the sun. We’d happily come back.

We’ve booked again for next May. Lindos Athena has a sociable bar, a refreshing pool, and beautifully kept gardens, and Lindos itself is an easy ten-minute walk away. The accommodation is basic, perhaps two or three stars, but the welcome and ongoing service deserve five. The family running it were warm and always keen to help us discover more of the island. We’ve stayed through a Jet2 package and arranged a later visit ourselves with Booking.com. Day trips to Symi and Marmaris are possible, and local car hire is good value. Even in the busy season, the roads away from the coast and up into the mountains are quiet. Lindos is Rhodes’ little treasure, and Athena feels like a hidden one.

The staff were so helpful and really went out of their way for everyone. Housekeeping was excellent, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The pool area was unreal, and both the bar and food were lovely and reasonably priced. For the money, I don’t think you could find a better hotel. My favourite stay ever, and I can’t recommend it enough.
