Lindos Sun

We had a great stay in May. We used plenty of repellent, but mosquitoes weren't an issue. The service was lovely. Kris and Stavros at reception, the Filipino crew, and the super-smiley egg man all made us feel welcome. It was a good base for Lindos and Pefkos, and we hired a car. Lindos is walkable, but taxis were quick, and the bus stopped just outside if you wanted to save money. One thing that could improve is the bar area, which didn't feel very cosy or inviting for a long stay. And please add a pool table!

The restaurant felt very classy and the food was great. Breakfast was excellent too, though having guests order each coffee and wait for every cup caused unnecessary delays and extra work for staff. A coffee and hot water station would be better. The pillows were hard, as they were at all the hotels we stayed at in Greece, so memory foam ones would be a good improvement. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the service was exceptional. Even though it was two weeks before the end of tourist season, when people might normally be burned out, the staff treated us like we were their first guests. I'd definitely stay there again.

We went as a couple for four nights in July. It was very hot, 35-37C, but manageable since I could cool off in the sea or a pool. There are plenty of beaches and pools open to everyone nearby. The rooms look stylish and rustic, just as the photos show. This place is a gem. The staff were second to none: humble, kind, helpful, and happy to chat, explain things, and make recommendations. We had breakfast only, which was more than adequate. The staff were polite, and they cooked fresh eggs or omelettes to your liking while you waited. The bus stops right outside and has lots of routes. Pefki /Pefkos is about 10 minutes away, and Lindos about 15 minutes in the other direction. Both are worth a visit for restaurants, bars, scenery, beaches, and shopping. The buses were modern, fully air-conditioned, and efficient. It was €2 per journey. The last bus back from Pefkos was at 10.30pm. A cab cost €11, or €9 from Lindos. Lindos was walkable too. Across the road, Navarone bay has surprising views of cliffs and mountain goats. Bring sea shoes, as the walk into the warm water is really rocky. We also enjoyed a drink at the outdoor bar area of Lindos Memories hotel, with its pool overlooking the beach. Amazing. My only gripe is the €150 deposit the hotel management takes at check-in. We booked through a large, reputable holiday company, but the deposit wasn't mentioned. There's also a €7 per night summer tax. No AC charges were listed, unlike at many places, so I guess that's it. It took a month for the deposit to be credited back because of the charge card policies. The hotel said 7-9 days, but the reviews show the timelines. I'd return, but be ready for the extra costs. Aside from that, we enjoyed the hotel a lot.

The staff are what make this hotel. They really want you to have a perfect holiday. A special mention to the sisters at the pool bar, the two lovely women in the restaurant, and especially Neil, who's always smiling. We ate at Le Grec, where the chef clearly takes pride in the food, and it was fine dining at its best. The hotel is beautiful, traditional yet modern, and spotlessly clean, with spacious rooms and a gorgeous pool area. It's about a 15-minute walk into Lindos, and there's a bus outside that goes as far as Rhodes Town. We just got back from a 10-day holiday, and if you've booked here, I don't think you'll be disappointed. We can't wait to return to Lindos Sun.
