Villa Melodia

We were left looking for a new place when our original villa was cancelled about five weeks before the trip, and Villa Melodia turned out to be a good choice. The view over Navarone bay is lovely, and the villa is modern with four bedrooms, including one in a small separate building. It has what you need, from a washing machine in the utility cupboard to a small dishwasher beside the fridge freezer, which we almost overlooked. There are also table tennis and pool tables outside, plus a couple of lovely cats who came by daily. We have cats too, so of course we fed them. Getting there takes around 50-60 minutes from the airport. If you’re driving with Google Maps, skip the first turn up the hill and take the next one; the map will reroute you. Slow down as you approach Lindos too, as a couple of sharp bends can catch you out. My only real complaint was the shower setup. There’s a standalone shower downstairs in the main building, while the upstairs bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower hose. I rarely take baths, especially on holiday, so I would’ve liked another standalone shower. Even so, the villa is well worth a visit.

The villa itself is lovely, though we found loads of creepy crawlies. It’s a bit out of the way, and taking the bin bags means a fair walk. The fourth room is in a separate building rather than joined to the main villa. Even so, all in all, it’s great.
