Pension Olympos

We chose it to be near the Olympus resort, and the person in charge was practical and helpful. The room facilities were in good condition, though there was no air conditioning, just a fan. One thing that kept this from being a five-star stay: if a neighbor is smoking, the smoke affects you a lot.

Quiet, pleasant location, with basic comfort and services. Fair value for the money.

The staff are kind, and if you want to enjoy the quiet of Olympus, this place is a good fit. Enipeas Canyon starts behind it, with alternative paths that aren't heavily walked by tourists. I loved that, and found a trail where I didn't see anyone in the mornings. It's outside central Litochoro, so I'd take a taxi if you're carrying luggage. It costs just 4 euros. From Litochoro you can visit Dion Archaeological Park, a taxi is 15 euros each way.

The uphill walk through town is steep, but the views over Litochoro and the Mediterranean are stunning once you get here. Our room was great value, with a full ensuite bathroom, a kitchen, and a long balcony. The owner was a lovely guy, very friendly and helpful, and shared plenty of local tips. He also let us leave our bikes and gear while we hiked Mount Olympus. We loved the area, and Litochoro is great.
