5 Traditional Suites

Maria was such a helpful host, with great recommendations and a knack for knowing everyone and everything. She was our go-to person for the trip. We stayed in Suite 5, and it felt perfect as soon as we walked in: lots of space, simple, elegant decor, and even sustainable window shades. The open-plan living area has a kitchen, with a few steps up to the bedroom. You can walk to all the local amenities, and Paralia Livadi is about five minutes away. For somewhere quieter and more private, Agios Vasileios Beach is another option, and you can see it right from the bedroom window. This place really is a little hidden gem in Livadi. Five stars, highly recommended, and we'd come back.

Maria made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay and treated me like a welcome guest. The suites are spacious and elegant, with modern design touches and a little Hellenic style in the decor. I especially liked being able to relax after exploring the island. From the rooftop terrace, the views of the Chora are breathtaking. The location in Livadi also works well, with two lovely beaches and cafes, restaurants and supermarkets all within walking distance. I highly recommend 5 Traditional Suites for a memorable stay, and look forward to returning.

Maria was courteous and attentive from the moment I arrived. She gave me local tips, helped with requests and even arranged transportation. The suites are in Livadi, close to cafes, supermarkets and restaurants, and within walking distance of a beautiful, uncrowded beach with clear water. I loved my Cycladic-style suite, and the care showed throughout the property, from the well-kept outdoor area to the modern, minimalist interior with Greek island touches. Every suite has a rooftop where you can enjoy morning coffee and the sounds of nature, with lovely views over the Chora of Astypalea. I had an extraordinary stay at 5 Traditional Suites and can't wait to return.

I was travelling solo and really appreciated Maria arranging my port pick-up and drop-off. Both rides were early, in the dark, but she stayed in touch and the taxi was on time. I felt safe. There are five suites, so you have people nearby and two doors between you and outside, plus Maria is lovely to chat with. She was always happy to answer questions or offer advice, and even topped up the complimentary welcome breakfast basket during my week with espresso capsules and juice in the fridge. The bedding was high-end and super comfortable, and there were some nice extra body lotions in the bathroom. The internet was very reliable, which helped when I needed to work on holiday. Suite 5 was so beautiful that I found it hard to leave. The mezzanine bedroom, kitchen window and balcony all look down toward the beach; sitting in the swing chair and listening to the waves, or sleeping with the window open to that sound all night, was wonderful. The design is clever, cool and sleek, with Greek style and a modern twist. There are two beaches a few minutes away. One was almost empty during my stay, and Maria lent me her umbrella; high-end beach towels were provided too. The other wasn't too busy either and had loungers and umbrellas for hire, cafes, bars and a good minimart. You can hire a car to see more of the island, or ask Maria how to use the astyMove app. I was there for over a week without renting a car, so it isn't essential. If you're coming from Naxos or Kos, Astypalea is a lovely place to head off the beaten track for a real break. 5 Traditional Suites was absolutely beautiful.
