Aelia Apartments & Suites

Aelia is a good base for getting around: there's a small, almost always quiet beach two minutes away on foot, Livadi beach is about six minutes away with restaurants and cafes, and Chora is no more than a 10-minute drive. Ag.Konstantinos, Kaminakia and Vatses are also easy to reach. This was our fourth visit to Astypalaia in recent years, for a week's holiday with my wife and 10-year-old son. We'd admired the colorful balconies on our last trip and were thrilled to find a room here, which we could book for mid-August in July because of Covid. I've stayed in places around the world, but the view from our room took my breath away: Astypalaia Chora and castle, with the endless Aegean blue beyond. That alone made me feel relaxed and happy straight away. The room was spacious, very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast had a great range, including delicious traditional pies, and the people were the friendliest we've met on holiday. Georgia, you're a star! The owners were very friendly and helpful, arranging our pick-up and drop-off and giving us great recommendations. They also helped us rent a car. We loved the delicious breakfast, with several choices each day. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the view of the castle was amazing. There's a small beach about three minutes away, while the main Livadi beach takes less than 10 minutes to reach on foot. Highly recommended!

There's a quiet beach just a three-minute walk away, and Livadi is about 10 minutes on foot. There you'll find a public beach, restaurants, supermarkets and the bus to Chora. Aelia is built into a hillside, with lovely views of the sea and the Venetian Castle in Chora. It's a beautifully located apartment hotel with excellent, up-to-date facilities, friendly staff, a very nice breakfast and excellent daily cleaning.

The location, the view, the hospitality and the housekeeping all made this stay unforgettable. The accommodation was perfect, with a very high standard even in the small details. I especially want to mention Tonia, the hostess and owner. She's a wonderful young woman who truly loves making visitors happy and helping them enjoy every moment at her hotel.
