Hotel Eleni Beach

The reserved beach sunbeds for hotel guests were a lovely bonus, and the beachside setting made it easy to enjoy a quiet week. It’s about a ten-minute walk to the centre. There aren’t shops right nearby, though the hotel has a shop in town that can deliver; we preferred to walk over and shop ourselves. The hotel is older, but charming and had what we needed for a relaxing stay. Getting to Tilos takes several stages of travel, but felt worth it once we arrived. We were greeted at Hotel Eleni Beach with a smile and handshake after a long trip involving boats, buses, and plenty of waiting. The owner took our luggage from the quay and let us stroll along the seafront to the hotel. Our first night was in a temporary room with a lovely view. It was clean and tidy, and though the bed was a little firm, we slept well. The owner kept us informed when our new room was ready, and it met our expectations. Breakfast was simple and good, with fresh rolls, cold cuts, Greek yoghurt, honey, and coffee. The service was warm and personal throughout. We ate lunch at the hotel a few times, right beside the sunbeds. The food was perfectly fine, and the owner’s daughters did a great job taking orders and running the area. It was nice to see them take on the responsibility and work so hard. The bar had cold beer and frappé, especially nice in the sun. We came for peace, sun, and sea, and the location, easygoing atmosphere, and friendly people made the week. We’re going home feeling more relaxed, with lovely memories and a strong wish to return.
