Monambeles Villas 2-bedroom Villa Elvira-elena-valentina

Elena was so friendly, warm and helpful. She arranged car hire for us and suggested the best places to visit. We were met at the airport, and I immediately felt welcome and at ease. The Villa “Valentina” was a lovely surprise because the website photos don't do it justice. It's spacious, well designed and equipped, with every detail thought through for comfort and a homely feel. It was immaculately clean, with lovely snow-white bedding. There was also a welcome treat of juice, fruit, water, sweets and wine, including one of the best types of local wines. The pool and its surroundings were very clean. We look forward to coming back.

There are several restaurants and mini supermarkets within walking distance, which makes the location really convenient. Elena and her family are friendly and always glad to offer advice.

The beach at Ai Helis is only about a five minute walk away, with two small bars, plenty of sunbeds, and room to lay out your own towel. We really liked it for a sunny day. Argostoli is around a 20 minute drive, and although the villa is near the airport, the quiet isn't disturbed. There are no night flights, and we barely noticed planes during the day. We came back to villa Monambeles after seven years, and were glad to find it just as lovely. The grounds have grown greener, with larger olive trees, grapes, bushes, and fruit trees. Our family of three, two adults and our 10 year old, had a wonderful 10 day stay. We had the villa superior, with two roomy bedrooms, two separate bathrooms, and a nice living area. Both bedrooms had air conditioning, so the nights were comfortable. Helena and her family were wonderful hosts. During our stay, the whole villa was cleaned twice, with fresh bed linen and towels each time. We’d happily return whenever we visit Kefalonia.

There’s a small playground with swings, a slide, and a playhouse, and kids can also use the balls and floats at the pool. The pool is lovely, a little heated, so the water feels warm enough for swimming and play. The villas are clean and tidy, and the hosts are wonderful and accommodating. They check that everything is alright and will sort out anything that isn’t. It’s a lovely place, though there can be quite a few mosquitoes. Repellent spray and candles helped with that.
