Agios Gerasimos Studios

Just back after 14 nights, and I love this place. The studios are clean and spacious, there's a lovely pool, and the views are fabulous. The owners are delightful, too. The accommodation has what I think of as Greek Chic, so you need to be comfortable with Greek standards. Air conditioning costs extra. It's a short downhill walk to the beach, where you'll find a supermarket, tavernas, kayak hire, and sunbeds. You can also book a meal cooked by Michael, the owner. We ate there several times and loved it.

I was really disappointed with our stay at the beginning of August. The shower was dirty and broken, and water kept leaking from the tap onto the floor. Our room wasn't cleaned at all during the seven days, and the sheets weren't changed even though the room information said they would be. We asked for fresh ones several times, but nothing happened. Breakfast was very poor, with unfriendly service. Such a shame on a beautiful island.

We left after one night and found a much better place nearby for about the same price. The beds were the worst part: I could feel every spring and woke up in pain, so proper sleep was impossible. Breakfast was limited and poor quality, and one egg was rotten. The facilities were run-down, the pool looked dirty, and the air conditioning only worked after the owner handed us a remote and expected us to operate it through the fuse box. We stayed at Agios Gerasimos Studios in June 2025. Basic cleanliness, working facilities, and respect should be a given, but sadly our experience was very unpleasant.

The balcony view is incredible, and the family who run the place are warm, friendly, and very helpful. The venue is charming, with large double rooms, and the food the family serves was delicious. Thanks, Michael and Angela, for a wonderful stay. It's a three-star place and very good value, so don't expect perfection: our room lacked some utensils and a toaster, though we ate out and didn't use the self-catering facilities. I also found the bed uncomfortable, but it didn't bother me much given the other good things. The beach is a short walk downhill, which means a steep walk back in the heat. You'll need a hire car, moped, or quad to explore the island. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
