Alkyonis Hotel & Spa

We got good value for the money and I’d visit again. The hotel was pretty quiet in July, and you can tell it was renovated recently. Our double room had a modern look, a fireplace, and a whirlpool tub. The staff were friendly and helpful, and parking was easy. The breakfast was good, though the coffee was absolutely awful. The spa doesn’t operate in summer. There were also lots of poorly finished bits, like dangling cables, missing covers, no window nets or shade blinds, and tiles laid at odd angles instead of parallel to the walls.

The best things here were the price and being close to the spa. We stayed one night, and the receptionist said we’d been upgraded, though we didn’t think so. The room and bathroom were, well, “special.” It was hot, and there was no way to adjust the heating. The fridge was really noisy. From a closer look, the room, bathroom, tiles, and doors all seemed DIY quality, even though they looked fine from a distance. Breakfast was good, but served in a tiny room. We wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

From the outside, it looks really nice. The rooms are okay, and the service was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a very poor selection, though, and the coffee was weak.
