The beds made it impossible to sleep. We didn’t get a wink all night, and that’s the most basic thing I expect from a hotel. Breakfast was disappointing too: cheap packaged supermarket-style pastries and bottled juice felt lazy and out of place in a mountain setting. When I raised these concerns, management’s response made the whole experience worse. They focused on the fact that I’d booked a promotional rate of 56€, as if that justified poor quality. A discount shouldn’t mean lower standards. They also called my request for firewood “late,” even though guests shouldn’t be made to feel like a burden when the hotel is open. What bothered me most was that they ignored the bed complaint altogether. The room was very clean, the setting was remarkably quiet, the views of Volos from the breakfast area were beautiful, and the woman who helped us was lovely and very helpful. It’s a shame that a clean, peaceful place with such views is managed by people who respond condescendingly instead of improving things. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want a proper rest and professional treatment. Looking closely at reviews from experienced Local Guides, it’s clear to me the hotel doesn’t live up to its high rating.

We had the room with a king-size bed and panoramic windows, and the view was stunning. We could enjoy it from the yard at breakfast, too. Breakfast was included in the price and had lots of tasty choices. A wonderful place.

The view alone felt worth the price, and the hotel’s amenities made the stay even better. From our triple room we often watched over Volos with a glass of wine in the evenings after exploring. The hotel has parking, and it’s well placed for walking to Makrinitsa village or even Portaria. The room was spacious and cozy, with comfortable beds and effective air conditioning. It was clean and well equipped with a hairdryer, fresh towels, a fridge, plus snacks and drinks for late-night hunger. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with several traditional pies, sweets, healthy snacks, fruit, yogurt, and nuts. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and ready to help. We stayed for six days and everything was great. I can wholeheartedly recommend it for a relaxing, enjoyable visit.

The advertised stay didn’t match what we got, and I came away massively disappointed. The room wasn’t cleaned during our visit, with no fresh sheets or housekeeping. Outside it, a bird’s nest and droppings were right by the door, and the parent birds often got aggressive as we tried to leave. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, staff were absent when we arrived, and we spent 20 minutes working out which room was ours, only to discover it wasn’t the one I’d booked. One day the power went out and there was no backup generator. The staff, when they did show up, were unwelcoming and unprofessional, smoking on the shared staircase. The promised champagne on arrival never came, and breakfast was bland, with cheap coffee left out overnight. The building is beautiful and has potential, and I did like the view, terrace, and good shower pressure, but almost everything else fell short because of poor management.
