The staff deserve all five stars. Everyone at reception, in the restaurant, and on the cleaning team was kind and great with my one-year-old daughter Luna. We really appreciated how much they interacted with her. The restaurant was pleasant, and the pool area was nice. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The fitness room was a different story. Calling it a gym would be a stretch, with six 5-kg weights, two machines out of order, and a ping pong table. That’s all there was. The manager, a grey-haired man I’d guess was in his 60s, brought down my impression of the place. He seemed sour, didn’t engage with guests, and was always picking on the staff. The micromanaging felt way over the top, like something from an old management book. I know a bit about managing people, and it was embarrassing to watch how he treated his own team. I wouldn’t want to work for him. Maybe people management in Greece is a little outdated, but I don’t know.

It was a solid “OK.” Most of the staff gave 110% service, though a few seemed like they were only there because they had to be. The hotel felt like it was in the middle of nowhere, and the rocky beach didn’t make me want to spend time there. Getting to the city meant a 45-minute ride on a crowded bus with little AC. Taxi drivers raised the price when picking people up, and local diners and fast-food places charged 3-4€ for a cup of soda that was some local brand, not the Coke we’d asked for.

Some rooms may look alright, but most were awful, dated, and dirty. The online photos were heavily edited and misleading. The food was disgusting, poorly cooked and low quality, and the staff didn’t seem to have a sense of hygiene. We avoided eating there as much as we could. Our stay at Bella Pais Hotel was a complete disaster. Someone damaged my brother’s Louis Vuitton bag, and it was obvious someone had gone through his things. That was a total invasion of privacy. When we raised it, the staff shrugged as if it wasn’t their problem. I can’t understand how this place got 3 stars. It deserves minus 3, and I’d tell people to stay far away from Bella Pais Hotel.

The staff were sweet and did everything they could to make our stay good. The town was close to the beach, but very sleepy in early June. The pool bar closed at 22.30, which felt really early. The same playlist played over and over, including a Christmas song during the first 24 hours. We paid for all inclusive and felt it was a waste. The wine, soda, and daytime snacks were nice, and breakfast was okay, but we only ate lunch and dinner there once. Both were bland, boring, and not appealing, so we ate out for the full two weeks.

The beach is close, and the entry into the sea was calm and gradual. There were lots of restaurants and bars nearby where we could spend a nice time. I stayed five days with a group of friends, and we found the rooms clean and equipped with everything we needed. The food was good too, and we loved the pool and the bar cocktails.
