Dedalos Hotel

We stayed at Dedalos Hotel in September 2024 for a lads holiday. It was a lovely, relaxing stay with a great atmosphere. The hotel design and layout were stunning, and our room was very comfortable and a brilliant size. Having three single beds worked well for us. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Madeira cakes, which were to die for. Everything is within walking distance: beaches, the Malia strip, restaurants, cafes, excursion booking places, and shops. There are also plenty of local buses you can book through your excursions, depending on where you’re going. We went in September, off peak, so it was fairly quiet and we enjoyed it all. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and gave excellent service. I highly recommend the hotel.

Our balcony looked out over the garden, which was lush, green, and clearly well cared for. It reminded me of somewhere tropical. We enjoyed our stay, and the owner Christoforos took a real interest in his guests, making sure everyone had what they needed.

The bar staff were lovely, but breakfast was very basic with little choice. The rooms are outdated, and drunk people were messing around in the corridors and banging doors at all hours, so getting a decent night’s sleep was nearly impossible. On the morning we left, the cleaners were working in the pool area, which we had to cross with our suitcases. They were arguing and shouting at each other and at us, and were extremely rude and unprofessional. We stayed for a week and won’t be coming back.

Everything’s within walking distance, and although Malia is known for nightlife, the noise didn’t bother us much. The pool was cleaned each morning, and the place looked peaceful and tidy. Koula gave us a warm welcome, thank you, and see you later!
