High Beach White

What made the holiday special was how kind and attentive everyone was. The staff worked hard to make us comfortable, and the hotel’s regular evening entertainment brought pleasant music to the nights. We felt they always went the extra mile. Our room was lovely, cleaned meticulously every day, and looked out toward the Cretan mountains above the city. The hotel sits by the beach and close to Malia’s main streets, so we could enjoy both the sea and the city. Even with the busy beachfront, the hotel and surrounding area never felt crowded. There was room to socialize or enjoy some quiet time. My husband and I wanted a sunny, comfortable break somewhere pleasant, and that’s exactly what we got. We strongly recommend High Beach White and High Beach Resort to anyone visiting Crete for comfort and warm hospitality, whether traveling alone, with family or as a couple.

Malia itself isn’t particularly nice, but the hotel gives you a break from its busy streets, so you can just stay there and not worry about what’s outside. High Beach White for adults only is an amazing place. Our room was beautiful, always clean, and had a stunning sea view. The private pool was wonderful and only for people staying in the High Beach White villas. We also had deckchairs and a parasol reserved on the beach for our whole holiday, so we never had to wonder if there’d be a place to lie by the sea. Marianna and Giorgos at the Sunset bar made our evenings much nicer. Mario at the beach and pool was our guy, always making sure we had a drink in hand. Emanuel at the Elia Restaurant took great care of us, too. All the staff and managers were friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you!

We left after just one night. Malia wasn’t a good place for us: one venue after another, with cheap restaurants and bars. It might be heaven if you want crowds and partying. We clearly hadn’t researched it well enough, but the hotel photos and description were misleading too. The place may be new, but it’s tiny, surrounded by other facilities, including a pleasure beach bar and the owner’s sister properties. Breakfast was at the larger property, and it was awful. The juice was fake, and nobody wore a mask or seemed to care about distancing. Dinner was very poor quality as well. We felt cheated and didn’t think it was worth the money. The hospitality from the staff we met was amazing, though. The front office lady was understanding and helpful in every way, and really tried to make us happy. The restaurant chef was super nice and a real host. Those two would be a delight to meet at any other place.

A fantastic beach, good food in the restaurants, and a lovely place to spend the evening at Seaside bar. The rooms were clean and nice, and the staff very friendly. Definitely one of the best hotels in Crete.
