Kristalli Hotel Apartments

The place was spotless, and we always managed to find a bed around the garden. The pool is a nice size, and you can borrow books, which saves packing them. The staff were amazing, always happy to answer questions and help. We liked the location: quiet, but an easy walk to old Malia, with the strip about 10 minutes away on foot. Would we come back? YES!

The old town, with its lovely restaurants and bars, is just a few minutes away on foot. The beach is quite a long walk, though. The place has a lovely setup, and the staff go out of their way to help, which probably explains all the repeat guests. We had one small room issue, and it was fixed very quickly.

If you want to reach the strip, it's about a 10-minute walk through the old town. The hotel is very close to the old town, where there are loads of traditional restaurants, and the food was amazing everywhere we went. The staff are so helpful and happy to answer any questions. Service was great, and the room was very clean.

The location is good for town, with plenty of places to eat and shops nearby. The rooms are great and very clean, but they could use a microwave. There wasn't an indoor table for eating, which was disappointing. We were told each room had a table and chairs, then staff said to bring the patio set indoors. That wasn't practical whenever we wanted to eat, inside or outside, so we ended up sitting on the beds. That's not what you want when self-catering. We also had an ant infestation. The cleaners came and deep cleaned the room, which was good. The staff were pretty cold and didn't interact much, and their attitude let the place down. It's a lovely place, but I think they need to get rid of the owners. The extras were a huge downside. Air conditioning for a week was 80 euros in cash or 190 by card, which felt like a total ripoff. Extending the room tariff was 60 euros, definitely not worth it. I've never paid these prices.
