Primavera Beach Hotel

The staff, especially Victoria, Emma and Yanis, were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the on-site restaurant served delicious food with plenty of choice. The location is a real plus if you want to explore the area easily. The pool situation was disappointing: it’s shared with a neighboring hotel that has families, even though this place is advertised as adults-only. The pool also needs a deep clean and doesn’t feel particularly good quality. Nights were very noisy, and the rooms are noticeably outdated. We also found out only after arriving that air conditioning costs an extra €75 per room, which felt excessive for the price. There’s plenty to like about Primavera Beach Hotel & Apartments, especially the location, food, and service, but some things need work. If those are your priorities, it’s a solid option, though expect dated rooms, the extra air-conditioning charge, and a less peaceful pool than the advertising suggests.

The staff were so friendly. They welcomed us with a drink, and I was greeted every morning and could have a chat. It’s a great value hotel with a beachside location at the end of the strip. There’s a €10 city tax, which is standard around Europe, and air conditioning cost another €65 for the week. We didn’t need it, as the evenings were cooler. Toiletries aren’t provided. I pushed the two single beds together, which I preferred. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

The check-out arrangements were awful. Check-out was at noon, which is fair enough, but there was nowhere private to shower or change afterward. We were told to use the pool shower and public toilet. I’d rather change in the street than set foot in that toilet. We left our cases in the out-of-order reception room as instructed, but staff walked in on us changing twice even though they knew we were inside. I did think the staff were nice before checkout, but they have no idea how to run a business or provide basic customer service. On arrival, the staff were very friendly, gave us a cocktail, and shared some area information. Our room had three single beds. When I asked for a double, they said there weren’t any because this was a “lads holiday” hotel and the guests didn’t want to share a bed. There was no soap, so I had to buy some immediately. The hotel advertised free WiFi, but we had to pay €75 in cash only for it, the city tax, and use of the fan. The walls were paper thin, so we could practically hear the neighbors brushing their teeth. The door needed repair and took a near slam to close. The shower ranged from lukewarm at best to freezing cold. Some pool and exterior photos also seemed fake. When I complained about the cold water, I felt I got some attitude. The only part of the holiday I enjoyed was when we were away from the hotel. It wasn’t a comfortable or relaxing place to stay.

There are no double beds, we were told, because most guests are single friends, which seems laughable since we only saw couples during our stay. Check-out is at noon, and it costs another €30 to stay later, even though most flights off the island are at night. There’s nowhere to wash or change after leaving your room, despite likely spending hours in the sun before heading to the airport. We were told to use the outdoor pool shower and change in the public toilet. I’m not sure where some of the online photos were taken, but it certainly wasn’t this place. Never again.
