Smaragdine Beach

We were happy enough with the hotel, although there were some oddities over the room we chose. We booked a side sea view, but were first shown one of the two rooms with a direct sea view and asked to pay €400 extra. When we finally saw the room we had booked, there was no side sea view at all. Those rooms sit back from the water, with only the balcony wall in front to look at. After some back and forth, they offered the sea-view room for €120 instead of €400, so we took it. It was small, but clean and functional. We booked without meals, so I can’t comment on breakfast or other services. Extra costs were €20 for the safe at reception, €8 per day for air conditioning and €1.50 per day per room for tourist tax. The shower pressure was very low, and the WiFi in the rooms was really bad.

Great location and a nice hotel. The owner is a really friendly man. We’ll be back next year.

I came from Cyprus to see family staying nearby in Stalis and arrived very early, at 9:30am. George the Manager met me and said he’d moved my room from the ground floor to the second floor so I’d have a view. He let me check in right then, which was a relief because I didn’t fancy dragging my case to the beach while waiting. My room was basic, nothing fancy, but it had everything I needed and a great view. It had a Mamma Mia Greek vibe. Air con costs extra if you need it. George was friendly, happy to help with anything and gave me restaurant advice when I asked. I stayed 3 nights and had a lovely, relaxing time. The hotel is perfectly placed on the strip: it took 2 minutes to go from my room to the beach. Stalis felt very safe for a solo traveller. I loved the location and will definitely be back after a great first experience there. Thank You George x

We had a wonderful time. The place was very clean, the location was great and everyone was very friendly. Ask the owner for restaurant tips, you won’t be disappointed.
