Samos Apartments

We ended up staying at Kerkis hotel until the date on what they called the “wrong” reservation, but even then we weren't moved to Samos Apartments until a day later. When we finally got there, things were disappointing: the sink leaked into the cupboard below, so we had to empty a bucket to keep the apartment from flooding. The cesspool had overflowed, which meant we couldn't sit on the veranda, and the towels had blood stains. Cleanliness was generally very average. At first, we were told our reservation for Samos Apartments was for a different date, which of course wasn't correct.

We'd booked an apartment with a kitchen, expecting to cook for a couple of days to save money. Instead, he moved us into a poor room and blew our budget, just because that's what he wanted. It didn't even have air conditioning or a refrigerator for water. Luckily, we had other accommodation on the island. I asked the receptionist to tell the boss to put that room at the bottom, then I left. He has two hotels, shows you one, then tries to put you in the other. We booked Samos Apartments, but he wanted to put us in a room at Kerkis Bay. His excuse was that both places have the same phone number and we hadn't clarified which one we wanted. What a big scammer. Stay far away.

Serious personal reasons meant we had to cancel our reservation, and we did so in good time, two months in advance. We asked for the deposit we'd paid to be refunded, which seemed obvious. The reply was that we shouldn't bother him and he'd handle it when he had the time and it suited him. He's nowhere near professional. Stay far away.

The room is clean and spacious enough for our family of five, and the location is wonderful, right by the sea in a lovely fishing village. Breakfast is served at the hotel a little farther away. The only downside is that it's not very cool inside, it definitely needs another air conditioner.
