Aethon Airport Project Hotel-Free Shuttle by GK Hospitality Group

The staff were friendly, but getting things sorted with them and the hotel shuttle driver was slow and the information wasn’t right. I ended up paying for a taxi myself. There was no toothpaste, and the emergency exit light in the room was a bit too bright to sleep comfortably.

The shuttle arrangement feels like a sham, since they expect you to book it 48 hours ahead. When my room key card failed, the staff member was rude and blamed me for it. The staff were very rude in general. At least I was only there for one night.

I booked two rooms and cancelled within the refund policy, but had to chase the deposits for weeks. One refund came through after about five weeks and a lot of calls, emails and messages. I still haven’t received the second, despite following up repeatedly over the last five weeks and spending a lot on collect calls. I keep getting ignored or told it’s still with the Accounting Dept. I’ve seen other reviews describing the same pattern across GK properties, so it appears the owner may be handling cancellations this way. In my view, that doesn’t comply with credit card merchant policies or Greek Law. I’d urge people not to book here if they want to avoid being in the same position.

We arrived on a Saturday evening and found that all the restaurants nearby were closed except the one in front of the hotel, in the yard of a church. It was handy to have it open. The room itself was quiet and spacious, and very clean. We forgot to take photos. The location worked well for a one-night stay near the airport, and the 4 am shuttle ran very smoothly even though our group was quite large. I recommend the hotel.
