The people here were so kind, and the apartment worked really well for us. It had a practical kitchen, strong AC, parking on site, and a private road leading down to the beach.

The staff made us feel very welcome, and our room had everything we needed: comfortable beds, AC, a water heater, fridge, and terrace. It was cozy rather than especially large, with a wonderful view of the sea. Cavo Grosso Bungalows sits in central Mavrovouni, a quiet little village about 3.5 km from Gytheio. Definitely worth a visit.

The owners were lovely and very accommodating, and the price was reasonable. The bungalows are set into a steep hillside with lots of steps, but since we needed wheelchair access they gave us one with just a small step at the entrance. Getting to the breakfast terrace in a wheelchair wasn't possible, so the owners kindly brought us breakfast on a tray in the bungalow. The beach is a short walk down a steep road.

The price was fair, and the bungalows are private, quiet, and within walking distance of the beach. We paid extra for a “panoramic” view because we wanted to enjoy the scenery, but the view was poor. It seemed the owner used “panoramic” to mean two air conditioners. The place badly needs renovation, and the owner wasn't polite. Poor service overall.

We spent eight lovely days here. The staff were very friendly and gave us useful information about the area. Each bungalow is set up for an independent stay, with a nice private yard, and the grounds are full of flowers and fruit trees. They sit on the hill above the beautiful Mavrovouni beach.
