The balcony view was fantastic, and the hotel’s grounds, pool, and exterior looked spotless and modern. The owners were kind, and when we asked for hand or bath soap, they brought some right away, so I assume housekeeping had simply missed it. Still, room #2 felt like the complete opposite of the outside. It was old and worn throughout, and the bedspread had stains. The twin beds were just springs, with no mattress or pad at all. I’ve never slept on anything like that, and don’t want to again. I couldn’t really tell whether the room was clean because everything was so run down. There was a hair dryer, though I didn’t try it, and a tiny safe that wouldn’t hold a computer. At least there was plenty of space for luggage. No coffee in the room, which I usually see elsewhere. There wasn’t a screen door either, so leaving the balcony door open overnight wasn’t an option and we had to run the A/C to stay cool. We usually stay up until midnight, but went to bed at nine just to get away from the surroundings. It was quiet while we slept, until a rooster started crowing about an hour before dawn. The place looks like it could be a fun summer hangout, and I can only hope they plan to bring the rooms up to the same standard as the exterior. This was the hardest rating I’ve ever had to give.

We’ll definitely come back. The setting up in the mountains is peaceful, with a 360° view, and the view is incredible. The pool bar, breakfast, and food were all fantastic. Mary and her family are amazing, and the staff took care of every detail. The host really couldn’t do enough for us. It was our first time in Crete, and all I can say is wow. If I could give the service 10 stars, I absolutely would.

We didn’t rent a car at first, then realized we needed one. eleni arranged for a new kia picanto to be dropped at the hotel for a very fair price. The hotel provided anything we needed, and the location was perfect. Sea and mountain views, plus a refreshing pool in 37°C heat and a bar right beside it. Thanks for a hassle-free holiday. We’ll be back next year.

The pool is great, and there’s a cool bar there too. It has a lovely, family feel, with nice food and lovely staff and owners. Also close to the nice restaurants in town.

We were looking for an affordable place to sleep and didn’t mind the slightly old-style decor. The rooms are big and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel sits uphill, so you get a beautiful sea view if you have a balcony with a view. Outside is really nice, with lovely vegetation and a large pool that gets a little shade from the palm trees. There’s parking for cars, and breakfast is available if you want it. They open a small cocktail bar by the pool at night, which is a nice touch. The people were very welcoming.
