Majestic Sky Luxury Suites

We booked through booking .com after seeing the five-star reviews and brochure photos on the hotel website for Majestic SkySuite in Meglachori Santorini. For our 40th wedding anniversary, we upgraded to a luxury suite with a deluxe hot tub, which was shown with a large outdoor area and an oversized jacuzzi with a waterfall. Because of our flights, we arrived around half an hour before check-in on Wednesday 18th of September. I had texted ahead to ask if we could leave our bags and go while cleaning was finished. We came back half an hour later, and the host gave us a quick tour of the spacious, very clean apartment. She opened the patio doors, pointed out the outside area, then left. After unpacking and traveling most of the day, I went outside and found the jacuzzi wasn't working and was filthy, with scum floating on top. It wasn't inviting at all. We went out for a meal, thinking I'd read the instructions the next day and hoping to spend a full day relaxing outside and using the tub. At 8.30 the next morning, workmen abruptly woke us by banging and welding on the wall adjoining the apartment, then came into our space. I texted the host that the jacuzzi wasn't working. She said someone was coming to fix it and replied that we could still use it. I told her it was filthy and full of scum, and I didn't want to risk catching an infection. For three days, there were repeated excuses and workmen, but nothing was fixed. We kept having to stay inside or go out to accommodate them. With our 40th anniversary on Sunday, we packed on Saturday and asked for a refund for the remaining days. I'd already booked another suite elsewhere. After a heated conversation, the owner agreed to refund us, and I made him pay for the other property, with an agreement that the €200 difference would be refunded by Monday. After several texts, I said I'd review the gap between what was promised and what we got and post on all platforms. His messages turned threatening, ending with “do you know who you are threatening” and “be careful who you are threatening”. My wife and I, a 65 year old man and his wife, were left frightened. We contacted Booking.com. Their response was poor, and we weren't hopeful about getting at least the €200 back or any compensation for the missing facilities. After I got home, I posted photos and this review. The owner texted that it was unfair, and the review has since been taken down, so it's still all five-star reviews. Megalochori isn't in the centre, but it has beautiful lanes and is close to Heart of Santorini, a lovely spot for sunsets 💜. We rented an ATV and could get around the island in 15-30 minutes. You do need to rent a car, bike, or ATV to get around. There are delicious cafés and restaurants nearby, and the host was wonderful and helpful. The rooms at Majestic sky are massive, and the terrace is huge with a pool. We saw the most glorious full moon from there 🌸. It made our Santorini stay so much better, definitely recommend!

Andriana was a lovely, helpful hostess. She shared links to places to see and quickly dealt with any issues that came up. The villa is spotless, spacious, and beautiful, with a hot tub and stunning sea views. Set in the hills, it's a romantic place to watch sunsets that are simply to die for. There's parking beside the villas if you rent a car, which I did and highly recommend for exploring the island. A family restaurant and car rental place are conveniently close, and further up the road is a charming bakery with wonderful food and terrific coffee. Megalochori is an easy walk; Fira is 15 min by car and Oia is 30 min, with other gorgeous spots around the island easy to reach too. Santorini is beautiful already, but The Majestic Sky Luxury Suites made our visit that much sweeter. A magical experience, this place is simply perfect!

Our host was so accommodating, helping with bookings, offering suggestions, and making sure we had what we needed. The suite was spacious and well equipped. It's an easy walk along Bourgainvillea passageways to the centre of charming Megalochori village, so the location was great.
