Buka Sandy Beach

We had a great time. The pool and beach were lovely and suitable for kids, and the staff were very friendly and gave us useful recommendations. The hotel and our room were clean. It's near Kalamata and easy to reach by car, which made it convenient for visiting different places. Highly recommend.

The beach was clean, long, and wide, and it never felt crowded, even in peak season. We also had excellent half board and all-inclusive options, and the hotel team were available and helpful throughout our stay. Panos, the beach bar manager, was unbelievably kind, and Vasilis, the hotel manager, deserves a mention too. The hotel is in a quiet spot by the sea in Messinia village, near Kalamata. I'd recommend it.

We were comfortable there, and the rooms were really clean. The four stars are because the reception information was poor: some details were wrong, or the staff there didn't know the answer. With all-inclusive, drinks at the beach bar weren't included. That would've been fine if we hadn't asked at the bar for the all-inclusive list, been handed a cocktail list, ordered from it, and then received a bill. I think a language barrier caused the mix-up, but it still wasn't good for a hotel like this.

The beach club could be good, but the staff seemed inexperienced and were sometimes rude. There was a yellow-green film all around the pool edges, which needs better cleaning. Drinks and food were overpriced, and they charge for pool chairs even though they're free elsewhere in Kalamata. The music was repetitive and annoying while we ate. If they want tourists to enjoy this beautiful area, they need to improve.
