The food was the one letdown. We ordered a club sandwich that was quite expensive, and the quality was a little below basic. That may be understandable in peak season. Apart from that, I'd recommend this place. It's in one of the best spots around town, with views of both the beach and castle. The multi-level setup makes it a nice place to relax over coffee, and there are sunbeds by the beach. A special mention, the sunbeds are among the few around that aren't charged for.

The beach was excellent, and the view of the castle and sea magnificent. The service was amazing, especially by the seaside part of the hotel.

The table was sticky and dirty, and the waitress only halfheartedly brought over a menu after asking if we were ready to order. We hadn't even been given one yet. There was no food menu, just snacks, and she didn't seem interested in serving us. We'd asked first if non-residents could order and were told that was fine, but it felt pretty clear they didn't want our business.

The owner acted as if the beach belonged to him. My girlfriend and I sat beneath the cafe's umbrellas last night during closing hours, and he shouted at us, even though we'd been customers a couple of days earlier. The same thing happened to a family member of mine a week ago. I wouldn't recommend the cafe.

The main drawback was breakfast. We had booked it for both days, but by the time we got to the buffet there was nothing left to eat, and it seemed like they didn't replenish it. The rooms are dated, though that didn't bother me. The hotel is right by a clear, shallow beach, great for kids, and the sea view and location are excellent.
